Beach Bunny is an American indie pop band from Chicago, formed in 2015 by vocalist and guitarist Lili Trifilio as a solo project. The band expanded to a full lineup in 2017 and gained widespread attention after their 2018 song "Prom Queen" went viral on TikTok in late 2019. Their 2020 track "Cloud 9" also achieved viral success on the platform in 2021.

Known for their heartfelt lyrics and catchy melodies, Beach Bunny has released several albums, including Honeymoon (2020), Emotional Creature (2022), and Tunnel Vision (2025). Their music blends elements of indie rock, power pop, and bedroom pop. The band's lineup currently includes Lili Trifilio, Jon Alvarado, and Anthony Vaccaro.

Currently, they’re touring the U.S with openers Pool Kids, Scarlet Demore, and Jayla Kai. They stopped by Brooklyn Paramount on April 25th, 2025. Photographer here at Punk Pulse Media, Lara Ziccardi, headed into the city to catch the show!

Firstly, I would like to give a special thank you to my dear friends, Abby and Tyler for showing me Beach Bunny! I don’t think I’d be at the show if Abby didn’t play them for me in December 2021 on the set of Tyler’s short film. Thank you both!

Before the set started, I talked to some of the most lovely fans at the barricade. I’ve even received a beaded bracelet from a kind fan, Avery. I think it’s so fun and adorable when fans make bracelets! My bracelet said “Dream Boy” which is a song from her first record Honeymoon. Thank you, Avery! Beach Bunny kicked off their set with some bangers - “Cloud 9” , “Miss California” , and “Mr. Predictable.”

So Abby and Tyler saw Beach Bunny a couple years ago at Terminal 5 (I think). But there’s a reason I don’t remember the venue because the info they told me kinda took me by surprise. They said that there was a mosh pit… yes! You heard me! A MOSH PIT!

Up next on the setlist was “Weeds,” “Oxygen,” “Chasm,” “Nice Guys,” and (another favorite of mine off the new record), “Tunnel Vision.” Everyone there and on stage had such a good vibe and seemed to really be enjoying themselves.

“Pixie Cut” and “Vertigo” followed - “Vertigo” being another one of my favorites but we took a slower turn with “Blame Game” after. This was one of the first Beach Bunny songs I’ve listened to off their EP of the same title. Then following was an old favorite of mine “Good Girls (Don’t Get Used) with the pit resuming it’s chaos.

Here’s the moment we’ve all been waiting for… THE MOSH PIT. I was not expecting a pit at a Beach Bunny show but it was one of the most fun one’s I’ve been in. Everyone was bopping around pretty respectfully! Can’t wait to tell you where the crowd went, especially insane.

I also have to talk about how Trifilio writes. With this new record, Tunnel Vision, I feel that she captures the beautiful, complicated, and frustrating aspects of being a woman. One of the tracks that really stood out to me is “Clueless” - if you’d ask me how it feels to be a woman growing up and in her twenties, I’d tell you to listen to this song. Trifilio writes with so much charm and authenticness, it makes me fall in love with Beach Bunny all over again. And not only that, “Clueless” and all of these songs are SO catchy!

Oh gosh… the mosh pit for “Sports” was so much fun. But believe it or not, this wasn’t the song that got the pit at its most rowdy-ness… To close off the end of the main set was “Dream Boy” and “Just Around the Corner” and dare I say, the encore was literally, just around the corner!

Trifilio opened the encore with a solo of “6 Weeks” - in which the crowd all got their phone flashlights out which lit up the room beautifully. I mentioned how stunning Brooklyn Paramount is in my The Story So Far show but with all the phone lights and minimal stage lighting just showed it.

After “6 Weeks,” this is where Trifilio motioned her arms to open the pit and this crowd prepared for it. And that’s when she started singing, “Shut up, count your calories - I never looked good in mom jeans” to the first verse of their hit “Prom Queen.” The. Crowd. Went. WILD! The pit was beeping and bopping around, bumping into each other, singing along. I think I have to say, the
Beach Bunny “Prom Queen” pit was the best pit I’ve ever been in. I’ve been yearning to return…

Last song of the night was “Painkiller” and I knew it was my time to depart. I was really close to the barricade. So I, of course, leave in my signature way - by crowd surfing. Two kind people lifted me up and as I was in the air approaching the barricade, I heard a few girlish screams underneath me. Honestly, I thought it was the funniest thing because I’m literally only two apples tall!

Beach Bunny put on such an incredible performance and the crowd exceeded my expectations. I’m STILL yearning for the Beach Bunny mosh pit… we will meet again one day!
