This past Thursday night, Molly Grace rocked Brooklyn Bowl in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania while traveling across the United States for her highly anticipated Blush tour. This tour comes after releasing her debut album with the same title.

If you don’t know who Molly Grace is, you’re missing out. Molly Grace is a disco-funk pop artist based in Nashville, Tennessee, and currently has almost 200k monthly listeners on Spotify. The way that I was introduced to her music was from a viral Tiktok video of hers back in 2023 where she named all of her ex-boyfriends in her song Lady Lady, and how “my lady’s loving, it puts them all to shame.” I have been hooked to her music ever since. Not only has she released her debut album since, she also recently opened for popular musicians such as Doechii and Kesha at All Things Go, a music festival based in Columbia, MD.

Fun fact: This is actually my third time seeing Molly Grace live this year. I actually took pictures for her show in Asbury Park, NJ, back in April, and I went to All Things Go last month. When I heard she was coming back around, I thought to myself, “Third time’s the charm!”

When waiting in line to enter the venue, almost, if not every single audience member was rocking Valentine’s Day themed outfits - red, white, and pink were the standout colors of the night. As Molly Grace said, “Gay people love a theme, don’t they?”

Opening the show was Meg Smith, who describes herself as the “patron saint of pop music.” I actually recognized her from a Tiktok series she filmed, entitled “Popstar Bootcamp.” Her goals were to improve her dancing, singing, and instrumental skills before embarking on the Blush tour as an opener. Meg knocked all of these goals out of the park. Her vocals were impressive, her dancing was clean, her instrumental skills shined through (the saxophone solo was such a nice touch); and amongst technical difficulties, she pushed through as a true professional on the stage. The audience was heavily impressed with her as well! There was also a point in the show where she spoke with an audience member about a toxic ex. Meg then proceeded to pull out a piece of paper and have the audience hex this audience member’s toxic ex via chanting a spell, which was one of the highlights of the night. There’s nothing better than the performer being able to connect with the audience members in a creative way. I truly hope I get to catch Meg Smith on tour again. She was wonderful to witness live!

Molly Grace took the stage shortly after Meg Smith’s set, as well as her “Lover Girls” aka backup singers, and her drummer. She started off her set strong with hits from her debut album, such as “Lemme”, “Mad At Her Forever,” and “Call It Quits.” She also emphasized to the audience that not only were they going to hear every song off of the album, they were also going to hear other classics mixed in.

One of the standout moments of the night was when Molly put away her microphone and sang an acoustic song to the audience at the edge of the stage. She made the entire room feel included and appreciated for her entire set, and this part of the show was no different. She even let her backup singers, known as her “Lover Girls,” take over for a song to show off their amazing vocals! She finished out the night performing her hit, “F.E.M.M.E.” before waving goodbye and exiting the stage.

It’s truly a tear-jerking moment watching an artist you’ve loved from the start grow bigger and bigger by the day. Molly Grace deserves all of the love she gets and more.. If you want to keep up with Molly Grace, follow her on Instagram and Tiktok.
